Founded in May 2005 as a small Call of Duty: United Offensive gaming community, Phoenix-Gaming has grown in terms of members and gaming interests. Although our members play different games and retain their differences, our community is firmly united through friendships and a passion for gaming.

We emphasize our role as a gaming community, not as a clan or guild. We are online gaming friends who share common gaming interests. As a community who stresses the importance of fun and enjoyment in gaming, we welcome you to a unique environment where all genres of games are accepted and played, and to a place where online recreation is heavily defined.

Community News & Updates

Greetings everyone! We are back with a post after more than two years of leaving our homepage with little or no activity. Because of this, we will try to keep this up-to-date with community news, news in the gaming industry, and any updates from our community members. If you’d like to work on your journalism skills and have a few things you want to get off your chest in terms of gaming and how it relates to our community, please let me or one of the senior administrators know and we’ll give you the opportunity to write.

Community Gaming News:

Call of Duty has been the marquee game for our community in past years. Now that it has taken a step back due to the repetitive releases and focusing on teeny boppers and their infatuation with cheezy action scenes and ridiculous gameplay, our community has been playing a vast majority of games including but not limited to the following below:

Company of Heroes, Counterstrike: Global Offensive, Day Z, Divinity: Original Sin, League of Legends, Payday 2, Sid Meier’s Civilization V, Sid Meier’s Civilization Beyond Earth Ultra Street Fighter IV, War Thunder

Strategy, cooperative, zombie survival FPS shooters, and a bit of arcade fighting games seem to be the main themes from our community. If you’d like to get back into gaming and are looking for something, a few of these games might be a good buy. Of course, there are plenty of games out there that many of us will also play that are not listed.

Last Thoughts:

In May 2015, we will be celebrating our 10 year anniversary of phoenix-gaming. We’d like to thank members of old and new origins for continuing to be a part of this great community and for continuing its success even after many game changes and evolutions within our community.

Stay tuned for more news and hopefully more frequent updates to our homepage!

-Yours truly,

Diablo 3 Thus Far

D3 FTA Banner

After more than a decade, Diablo 3 has finally arrived, destroying the sleep cycles of millions around the globe. It's been roughly three weeks since it hit the shelves, and it's still as enjoyable as it was on day one (although without hours and hours of error 3006 and 37). This is a must-buy.

At the moment, I'm working my wizard through the Hell difficulty, and I'm going to be starting Nightmare with a monk. What class(es) are you playing, and which one are you going to try next?

Preorder Guild Wars 2!

TOR FTA Banner

It's official –- Guild Wars 2 is now available for pre-order! If you're looking to whet your appetite, be sure to pick up a copy. Doing so will give you access to all upcoming Guild Wars 2 beta weekends. On top of that, those who pre-purchase the game will be granted a three day head start prior to its release date, which has yet to be announced.

The digital standard edition is available for $59.99. If you're looking to up the ante, then the digital deluxe edition is another twenty, and includes several unique items and a new skill. And of course, for you die-hard Guild Wars fans, there's always the collector's edition. In addition to the deluxe edition in-game items, it comes with a 10-inch Rytlock figurine, 112-page Making of Guild Wars 2 book, GW2 soundtrack CD, and an art portfolio and custom art frame, all stored inside the CE metal box -- yours for the small sum of $149.99. Ouch!

In the end, a game's a game, and Guild Wars 2 looks to be as solid as its predecessor.

Star Wars: The Old Republic

TOR FTA Banner

Star Wars: The Old Republic is finally out! If you are looking to pick up the game as a way to enjoy the holiday season, this would be the game right for you. You may purchase a digital copy from EA, or you may find luck in retail, hoping to pick up a physical copy of the game, which is already in high demand.

Our members have already started playing since the early access period. The in-game guild is at around 14. Because of the high demand of in-game guild membership, recruiting in-game will be halted for the time being. We encourage all individuals seeking to join the FTA guild to register in the forums and introduce themselves before pursuing guild membership. However, all current FTA members may immediately seek guild membership. Be sure to ask one of our members to gain access and join our ranks as we fight to rid the galaxy of the Sith!

May the force be with you.

Star Wars: The Old Republic

The Old Republic

The Old Republic Beta has entered its second weekend of beta testing! Several of our community members have had the chance to play through the initial stages of the game, as well as explore the vast interactive environment available to the player. The beta is available to those who register beforehand. An email notification will be sent to you, along with a testing date session if you do succeed in getting in. If you don’t get the chance to try out the beta, the full version of the game will be released on December 20. Star Wars: The Old Republic will offer you a unique MMO experience, along with the award-winning voice actors, story-telling, and music soundtrack that are seen across the very successful Mass Effect and Dragon Age games.

Our community continues to take pride in our diverse gaming interests and tastes. If you’re looking for some games to entertain you in the long run, The Old Republic is one of those games that will keep you satisfied. TOR will be added to our list of unofficial community games, alongside League of Legends, Team Fortress 2, Killing Floor, and many others. It has been quite some time since our community has engaged in a decent MMO. Stay tuned for any updates regarding the beta, the release of the game, and plans for our very own [FTA] in-game guild!

Hell... It's About Time!

After 12 long years after the release of the original Starcraft, Starcraft II is finally here. Faster, vivid, updated, and sculpted to perfection, the newest installment of the series features the three classic races of the Terran, Protoss, and Zerg, each consisting of their own unique characteristics and units as seen in the original. However, any player who has played the original will find Starcraft II to be different and more dynamic than ever before. With new units, maps, and new strategies to utilize, Starcraft II satisfies veteran Starcraft players as well as new players looking to play something fun and creative.

Within the contents of a single disc is the data of a game that carries on a legacy of excellence in computer gaming. When you install the game, your heart will boil. And when you play it for the first time, you will ask whether Leonardo Dicaprio and his team of dream experts have implanted an idea in your mind. Trust us, this is something you cannot pass off. Now that Starcraft II has been released, we will begin our celebration by hosting our very first tournament. Although still in the planning process by our senior administrators, we hope to have the works: brackets, prizes, and sheer zergling-killing fun! More information will become available as details and interests are finalized. What are you waiting for Raynor? GOGOGOGOGOGO.
